In response to the ongoing volunteer crisis, the Area 8 Council has voted that beginning in 2025; to qualify for any year end awards, competitors will be required to complete 4 hours of volunteer work at any Area 8 USEA recognized event. Area 8 is one of the last areas to implement this requirement.
- The VIP Leaderboard for Area 8 Volunteers will be used to track hours at the events.
- Volunteer hours will need to be at any Area 8 USEA Recognized event(s).
- Competitors will be required to complete their own volunteer hour quota.
- The Year End Awards will be given at the Annual Meeting each year.
Special Young Riders Note:
- Area 8 Young Riders wishing to apply to compete at Young Rider Eventing Championships and/or apply for consideration in the EA21 Clinics and Camps will be required to have a minimum of 7 hours volunteering at Area 8 recognized Events.

Additionally, the Council voted to give 10 Highest Hours year-end Volunteer Awards.
